Aniek Goossens, MSc
I am a technology-oriented designer specializing in product development, focussingĀ on blending creativity and innovative technologies. My expertise lies in integrating various design approaches and leveraging innovative technologies, particularly 3D printing, to enhance creative outputs. I am passionate about understanding and improving creative processes, making them more accessible through visualization. My strengths shine in problem-solving contexts, where I balance practical development and scientific research, recognizing the importance of both for achieving innovative breakthroughs.
My Design Research Process (DRP) focuses on developing tangible objects that impact users and society. My main focus in this area has mainly developed through mixed-method approaches and quantitative and qualitative data analysis. I learned various approaches for collecting data, like Research-through-Design (RtD), and methods of analysis, such as cross-case and thematic analysis. I often design for users. Here, User Experience (UX) is crucial. I developed a broad and theoretically grounded perspective on the multiple stages of UX. This also grounds design decisions better by focusing on empathy, needs, values, and understanding behavior from a theoretical perspective.
As an enthusiastic and motivated person, I am eager to learn and collaborate. I draw inspiration from working with others and strive to find useful solutions in challenging contexts. In my work, organizing and structuring the design process is crucial, as it gives direction in the process. I focus on a milestone-based approach rather than a detailed plan, as I believe the latter could kill creativity. This method fosters a more dynamic and creative environment.
